How to Play Diloti Online
Diloti is a Greek fishing card game. On each turn you play one card, trying to capture cards from the table, build a declaration (plain/group), making a sweep (xeri), or avoiding leaving one for the next player.
1. Start a Table
Create or join a lobby, choose a 2-player or 4-player game, and set the match target. You can play a private lobby with friends or practice against CPU opponents.
2. Understand the Deal
Each player receives six cards. Four cards are placed face up on the table. When every player runs out of cards, another batch is dealt from the deck until the deck is exhausted.
3. Choose One Turn Action
- Capture by rank: play a matching card to collect a loose table card.
- Capture by sum: play a number card that equals the total value of selected table cards.
- Declare: combine your played card with table cards to make a plain or group.
- Capture a declaration: reclaim a plain or group with a matching value card.
- Lay: place a card on the table when you are not capturing or declaring.
4. Use Plains and Groups
A plain is a declared total, such as playing 4 with a table 3 to make a plain 7. A group is a set of equal values, such as a loose 10♦ grouped with a plain 10 made from 9♠ and A♥. The player who owns a declaration must keep a matching card to capture it later.
Plain Example
Playing 3♣ on the loose 4♦ creates a plain 7.
Group Example
Playing A♥ on 9♠ and group with the loose 10♦.
5. Watch for Xeri
If a legal capture clears the table, it scores a xeri. Xeri are valuable, so a good move often balances immediate captures against what the next player can sweep.
